transformers was launched here in bangkok last week, but i just got time to watch it yesterday. transformers is a live action film based on the transformers fiction (1984).
billions of years ago, there was a cube which is believed to be the origin of everything including the planet cybertron. the decepticons and autobots have been embroiled in a war that eventually lead to the destruction of their home planet. the survivors have been scattered throughout the universe. and the cube was lost. both sides are now seeking for the cube, an immensely powerful device which has the power to create life.
this is a definite live action movie. so if you’re looking for a decent plot, this movie may not suitable for you. personally i really like this film. it features brilliant, amazing, and incredible visual effects as i could possibly imagine. combined with nice ensemble cast, which i can recall their familiar faces from several films i have seen (charlie’s angels, national treasure, mission:impossible, prison break, etc.)
so far, this film is the only film directed by michael bay that i like! (i saw these films in theatre; the island, bad boys i + ii, armageddon, the rock… phew! and i’m glad that i haven’t seen pearl habor.)
p.s.1 optimus prime is a truck and megatron is a jet?
p.s.2 the evil has two flying units while the good has vehicles with wheels. that’s just unfair.
p.s.3 my favorite character is starscream!
p.s.4 why there’s the song “what i’ve done” by linkin park at the end of the movie? that’s just funny.
p.s.5 the background music is crappy, by the way.
p.s.6 i heard that there will be the sequel. whoo! i definitely would love to see part 2.
p.s.7 there was a jerk sitting right next to me who seemed to have a problem of controlling himself to stay still and making no noise at all. he kept shifting his position or doing something most of the time and my chair was trembled every time that he moved. plus he also used his cellphone in the theatre, how rude!
