唐山大地震 (Tangshan Dadizhen) also known as Aftershock depicts the tragic event of earthquake in Tangshan, China in 1976. The epicenter of the earthquake was near Tangshan, China, an industrial city with approximately one million inhabitants. The record reported 7.8-magnitude earthquake hit at 03:42:53.8 local time on July 27, 1976 and lasted for 23 seconds. The Tangshan earthquake killed over 200,000 people.
In the aftermath of the earthquake, they try to to rescue two kids who are trapped together under a slab of concrete. It is impossible to save both lives. By lifting one side of the slab will definitely kill the other one on the other side. They ask mother of the children to make an inevitable decision whether to save her son or her daughter. Time is running out while she is being forced to make a decision to save one life, otherwise the wreck of the building might collapse when another shock hit and both children will die…
Aftershock is dramatic and sensational at its best.
Everything is sublime and looks unbelievably real.
Highly recommended! The film is now showing at Apex Lido and House.
P.S. Don’t forget to bring your handkerchief, you’re gonna need it.
