I only used it once to copy hundreds of files with total size around 2.5GB onto it. The process was fast. After a while it seemed to eject itself somehow because my computer no longer saw it. So I pulled it off and tried push it in again. My Mac said this USB device cannot be used and pulled up Disk Utility asking if I wanted to “Initialize” it. (Which literally means You must format it now)

I followed the instruction on screen and formatted the USB flash drive, the drive became accessible again. Then I had to start over by copying the same files onto it. This time when it passed 50% of the copying, it seemed to eject itself again with nothing or whatsoever came into contact with the machine nor within two meters radius!

And it just died completely.
My computer no longer detected the drive, the end.
Tested with other machines as well, none could see it.

So I made a call to bananaIT yesterday asking what to do with this broken flash drive, and they said I can get a replacement with a new one if it’s still within seven days after I purchased it.

When I arrived at the shop, their technician tested it and found it’s not working. Then they started to tell me that HP do not allow replacement at the shop, they have to get their technicians to perform test on their product so basically you have to send it over and wait patiently for two weeks!!!

I was like WTF, why wasn’t I informed this information BEFORE I bought it? Why didn’t they tell me on the phone? Shouldn’t there be an enormous banner across HP products section saying “THESE ITEMS ARE NOT ELIGIBLE FOR 7-DAY IMMEDIATE REPLACEMENT/EXCHANGE POLICY”?

I asked if I bought it then went home immediately and the thing was just out-of-the-box broken, can I get a replacement? The answer is NO, but you can test it at the shop to see if it’s working… I mean, Who on earth would try to copy 16GB of files on to the flash drive to test if every bit can be read and written?

What could HP technicians possibly do with a dead undetected flash drive? Cast a spell and resurrect it from the dead, perhaps? Stop wasting my time and your time. HP better go make some actual good quality products.

By the way, the flash drive becomes extremely hot when the computer is reading or writing on it, another design flaw besides its crappy quality. Never again I will buy anything from HP.

Once again with Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by chief conductor, Mr. Gudni A. Emilsson. The theme is Powerful Classic featuring special Violin soloist Boris Brovtsyn from Russia at Music Auditorium (MACM), College of Music, Mahidol University on May 21, 2011.

เปิดการแสดงด้วยบทเพลงเทพนิมิตร ๓ ชั้น ซึ่งแต่เดิมเป็นเพลงเรื่องนางหงส์ อันเป็นเพลงชุดอัตรา ๒ ชั้นที่รวมเพลงต่างๆ เข้าไว้ด้วยกัน อันได้แก่ เพลงพราหมณ์เก็บหัวแหวน เพลงสาวสอดแหวน เพลงสุดแสนสวาท และเพลงแมลงวันทอง เพลงเรื่องนางหงส์นี้ในอดีตใช้บรรเลงประโตมศพมาก่อน ต่อมาได้มีการแต่งขยายทำนองให้เป็นเพลงอัตรา ๓ ชั้น มีการแทรกทำนองให้มีลูกขัดลูกล้อ มีจังหวะสนุกสนานตลอดทั้งเพลง กลายเป็นเพลงดัดแปลงที่ปรุงแต่งไกลจากแนวต้นฉบับเดิม และได้เปลี่ยนชื่อเป็นเพลงเทพนิมิตร เพื่อปิดบังว่ามีต้นกำเนิดมาจากเพลงนางหงส์

Yes! The duo of awesomeness, they are back! It’s been like five years after their mesmerizing performance in Pantomime in Bangkok 9 back in 2006. This time they are back with the full show for the very first time in Bangkok. Their performance is top-notch like always, no wonder they are one of the best theatrical mime comedians. Centerpoint Playhouse was packed with laughter of joy and happiness.

They will be giving five performances from March 4 – 6, 2011 at Centerpoint Playhouse, Central World. I hope they will be back next year and many years after that! Entertainment at its best.

คอนเสิร์ทนี้เล่นโดยวง Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra ควบคุมวงโดย Claude Villaret และมีโซโลอิสท์เป็นนักร้องโซปราโน่จากฝรั่งเศส Sophie Hervé โดยไฮไลท์ของคอนเสิร์ทจะอยู่ที่เพลง Gloria ผลงานของ Francis Poulenc (1899 – 1963) ซึ่งประพันธ์ขึ้นในปี 1959 เป็นผลงานดนตรีศาสนาที่ประพันธ์สำหรับเสียงเดี่ยวโซปราโน่ และออเคสตร้าวงใหญ่ ประกอบนักร้องประสานเสียง ซึ่งในคอนเสิร์ทนี้ Henri Pompidor ทำหน้าที่เป็น Choir Master

Went to attend New Year’s Concert 2011 at Music Auditorium (MACM), College of Music, Mahidol University on January 8, 2011. The concert was orchestrated by Thailand Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by chief conductor, Mr. Gudni A. Emilsson with special soloist Marie Fajtová, Soprano from Czech Republic.

The set list includes “Carmen” overture, Intermezzo from Carmen (Georges Bizet), “Der Freischütz” overture, “Einst träumte meiner sel’gen Base” (Carl Maria von Weber), “Il Barbiere di Siviglia” overture, “Una voce poco fa” (Giocachino Antonio Rossini), Intermezzo from Cavallera Rusticana (Pietro Mascagni), “Caro Nome” from Rigoletto (Giuseppe Verdi), “Quel guardo il cavaliera” from Don Pasquale (Gaetano Donizetti)

And since it’s a new year’s concert, beautiful Waltz melody from Johann Strauss II has become a requirement. They started with the famous “Die Fledermaus” overture followed by “Mein Herr Marquis”, “Tritsch – Tratsch Polka, op. 214″, “Pizzicato Polka, op. 449″, “Tik – Tak Polka, op. 365″, “Unter Donner und Blitz, op. 324″, and all-time-favorite “An der schönen blauen Donau, Op. 314″ (The Blue Danube Waltz)

It was a pleasantly great concert, Marie Fajtová’s voice sounded lively amazing in the hall. It would be greater if she sang “Frühlingsstimmen Op. 410″ (Voices of Spring)! Many thanks to P’lim.

This is probably the cutest silicone case of iPod Nano 6th generation.

Aakkoset is the a shelf by Finnish designer Lincoln Kayiwa. Literally, it is a huge MDF box with shelf in the shape of English alphabet (Aakkoset is a Finnish word means alphabet), it weighs 600 kilograms. It’s more like an enormous decoration rather than a real shelf anyway.

Pigeon Post just released lovely holiday series postcards, inspired by the warm and sweet memories with unique folk style illustration. There are four postcards in the series; The Rabbit Carriage, The Delivery, The Busy Toycrafter, and The Holiday Kitchen.

Oh yes. Tintin is coming in 3-D next year. Steven Spielberg and Peter Jackson have chosen Empire to reveal the first look at The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn.

The film script is based on three volumes of Hergé’s comic series “Les Aventures de Tintin” which are Le Crabe aux pinces d’or (The Crab with the Golden Claws), Le Secret de la Licorne (The Secret of the Unicorn), and Le Trésor de Rackham le Rouge (Red Rackham’s Treasure).
